Considering a point-and-shoot upgrade. I'm looking into getting more 0dorish with the photography, but I'm not ready for a DSLR and don't want an overly bulky point and shoot, but want decent zoom and added features.
Right now, I have a compact Canon SD 7MP 3x zoom.
Get a Canon G9
Sony DSC-T500 (coming later this month) = $399
Shoots HD video and stills at the same time, huge LCD touch screen, 5X optical zoom....
"Myself snoreta. My hobby is to drive the car. I am crazy for driving the new car which will came in the market very soon."
Get another Canon SD*
Canon makes the best point and shoots. Sony and Nikon cant touch them (and I'm a die hard Nikon DSLR user...)
my little casio exilim is the best camera I've ever owned.
This one caught my eye, but i don't know how good the Panny's are in the digi cam arena.

That past few cams that I have had have been Cannon's, but I am open for change if there is something worthwhile out there.

Canon or Nikon for P&S. They have better pictures then most P&S cameras.
Bitch, shut the fuck up and go make me a sandwich.
The high end of the Panasonic Lumix line isnt bad. Ive used one or two from other people owned them.
But if you get one you have to get a higher end model, or else they are not so good.
So, with you being a Canon owner, and them being the best P&S....stick with what you know I say. You'll be happier for it.
Canon SD890 IS

SD870 IS is nice too
We have the Nikon Coolpix S210. It's a nice camera, but we've had recurring Lens Error issues.
I think we're going to upgrade to DSLR. Currently eye-balling the Sony A200 w/ the 18-70mm zoom and adding the 75-300mm zoom.
Thoughts...on the upgrade? The Nikon D40 is comparable on price...not sure though.
The nikons and canons in that range are generally better options, but if you won't be looking into buying alot of additional lenses teh sonys make a nice camera. Image quality is about the same, I think they're slightly noisier but I believe the 200 has liveview (i.e. you can see the picture you're taking on the LCD screen instead of having to look through the viewfinder) which is a pretty nice feature.
no 'liveview' on the A200 unfortunately.
can't wait for new pics of that sweet 'stache
It's like sex, except I'm having it.
