So, what games are MUST own for this machine? It'll be a little bit before I can afford to buy any, but I'd like to start thinking about it now, simply because I'm an impatient asshat. :werd:

Oblivion is "OK".

Pros:
- good graphics/sound
- large game world
- cool auto travel system
- level scaling of enemies
- open endedness and varied choice in what to do

Cons:
- Encumbrance system is poorly done
- No combat info...no hit points, damage given
- open endedness and varied choice in what to do

"open endedness and varied choice in what to do" is listed as both because depending on what you like, it can be either. There are 4 guild questlines, a main questline and then hundreds of other sideline mini quests and random little stuff. It's nice to have options, but without a clear objective, I found myself kinda wandering around bored a lot of the time.

I like some, dislike others.

Ones with interaction with others are more fun though, like WoW.

Oblivion is fun. I need to play it again...

Madden, and NCAA FB, and NBA 2K7 are supposed to be good.

Brothers in Arms, Hell's Highway should be good.

Another cool thing, Shadowrun will be coming out soon ( from the makers of MechWarrior and Crimson Skies ), and people can play against each other online not just over Live, but also with people that have Windows Vista. PC -vs- Console? :wired:

I played yesterday for the first time since August. Before that, it was since February. I used to be pretty good, yet I still went on a murdering spree at my friend's place. It'll be good to get back in action. Helps being single with no life, kids, pets, or a need for much social interaction.
