Had the misfortune of denting a wheel (ie: merging onto the highway and clobbering a 25lbs turkey pot hole). One of my wheel is out of round. I am debating having it sent to get straightened out and refinshed.

cost of new wheel : $225
refinshing : $75-150 per wheel, plus no guarantee it comes out like new.

Anyone has exp. in having wheel fixed? Pros/cons? :dunno:

Yes, we call that bending a rim.

Most places shouldnt have no issue with fixing it, depending how bad it is.

I craked a rim beyond repair - threw all four in the garage where they sit now.

is it an aftermarket wheel or stock? if its stock, they should be able to finish it like new and look like the other ones.

aftermarket:
chrome can come ou looknig different so it may not match the other wheels.
polish can come out looking different as well i believe.

I had a rim that got all fucked up. I *think* I caught a raised sewer on the lip and it ripped the lipp almost off. Had it fixed and it came out fine....although, the "MOMO" on the rim was almost polished off so it was hard to read it...like the tops/bottoms of letters had been buffed away

Fixing a chrome is expensive (at least in 98 it was) cost me like 260 to re-chrome and straighten it ou

your best bet would be ask a wheel repair shop. ask them if it will look the same as the other wheels.

Well, they are aluminum, so I luck out in the chroming expense. I believe the process in my case is to fill any gouges by aluminum welding, and then polish the lip again... only to slam into a pothole yet again...
